Benefitting from years of unassuming and understated hipness, they bring forth a funky, lyrically charged racket that sits comfortably with soulful sounds the world over. Intricate but free-swinging, explosive yet intimate, fresh and green as grass. Taking cues from the dance bands of western Louisiana (and his native Midwest,), the streets (and 45’s) of New Orleans, touring African and Caribbean combos and the soul, funk & blues of his youth coupled with early, teeth-cutting experience in the verbal hotbeds of the coffeehouse scene, Cebar is a masterful synthesist of rhythmic culture. “For the in crowd starting around Milwaukee and stretching all the way down yonder to New Orleans, Paul Cebar needs no introduction. He’s been amalgamating modern versions of age-old musical strains like rhythm and blues, rock, Caribbean calypso and even outright oddities into the Cebar Sound for so long he’s surely to be anointed iconness any day now.” Bill Bentley, The Morton Report —– Siama comes from a culture where everyone creates and sings together so he and Dallas are passionate about sharing the experience they had together visiting family in DRC. That’s why they always encourage everyone to sing along in Kikongo, Lingala, Swahili and English. People often describe Siama’s music as healing and spirit-lifting. That’s why his tagline is, “Feel-good music from the Heart of Africa”. —– Gentleman Forager Eats: Wild and wildly delicious food is expertly prepared by “Gentleman Forager Eats”.
